Adrienne has been working in San Francisco salons since she arrived from Texas in 1995, starting as an assistant at Bladerunners Salon for a team of talented artists including Ms Deena Davenport (before she opened Glama-rama!) She’s also been a big part of the SF underground mucic scene–styling bands and working in many clubs as a DJ, promoter, door and coat check person–and is heavily influenced by music and art, especially goth and punk styles. Trained by the likes of Sassoon, Redken and Bumble and Bumble, she’s learned the rules and how to break them!
How old were you when you realized you wanted to become a hairdresser?
I was a teen doing my friends’ punk rock hair in high school
Why do you love working at the Glam and who is your ideal client?
I love the diversity and individuality, the friendly environment and the freedom to create. My ideal client enjoys going to shows and nightclub, goth kids and punks to the front of the line!
Who was your childhood crush/idol?
First Donny Osmond, then Matt Dillon when I realized I liked bad boys and not good boys. 😀 Then Joan Jett when I was in middle school. I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to be her or be WITH her!

Alternative music and fierce edgy drag!

In what ways do you inspire your clients, and how do you like to inspire them?
I am inspired by art and music, and I inspire my clients by helping them to become the best version of themselves.
Why should new clients pick you to book with?
Because I have experience and I have fun stories, and I make everyone feel comfortable. I listen to what they really want!
What hobbies/passions do you have outside of hair?
Music! (Going to shows, performing, DJing, Karaoke) Animal rights (vegan lifestyle, Cat volunteer at the SF Animal Care and Control), Travel!
What else do you want clients to know about yourself?
I want everyone to feel like a rock star when they leave!
